Putna Monastery is a Romanian Orthodox monastery in Suceava County, founded in 1466 by Stephen the Great, who built and dedicated it. It is one of medieval Moldavia's most important cultural, religious and artistic centres, and it houses Stephen's tomb, now a place of pilgrimage, together with those of several family members. Its icon veils and tombstones are regarded as fine examples of Moldavian art from Stephen's era.
