The Rider-Pugh House is a Late Victorian residence in Kanab, Utah, built between 1892 and 1894 by John Rider, an Irish immigrant and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with assistance from his son Frank. Rider had settled in Utah in 1886 after converting to the LDS Church in 1855, purchasing the land in 1889. The house is notable for a "polygamy pit" concealed beneath its foyer—a feature reflecting the religious community's historical practice. In 1895, Edward Pugh, an English-born LDS convert, acquired the property; Pugh maintained two wives, one of whom resided elsewhere in the territory. The house passed to the Pughs' daughter, Pearl Edna Pugh Brown, in 1914 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 6, 2001.
