Rose Island Light is a lighthouse on Rose Island in Narragansett Bay, Newport, Rhode Island, built in 1870 to an award-winning design by Vermont architect Albert Dow. It stands atop a bastion of Fort Hamilton, built in 1798–1800. Abandoned as a working light in 1970 after the Newport Bridge was constructed nearby, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 and relit as a private aid to navigation in 1992. Today it is preserved by the Rose Island Lighthouse Foundation and reached only by boat.
