Rosenborg Castle is a Renaissance palace and museum in Copenhagen, Denmark. Begun in 1606 as a country summerhouse, it is an example of Christian IV's many architectural projects and was built in the Dutch Renaissance style typical of Danish buildings of the period. It was expanded several times until reaching its present form by 1624, with Hans van Steenwinckel the Younger and Bertel Lange associated with its structural planning.
