Rowan Oak is a single-family detached home in Oxford, Mississippi, built in 1844 in a primitive Greek Revival style for Robert B. Sheegog, an Irish immigrant farmer from Tennessee. William Faulkner bought the house in disrepair in 1930 and lived there until his death in 1962. The University of Mississippi has owned and operated it since 1972, and it is open to the public year-round. It is a National Historic Landmark.
