The Royal Albert Hall is a Grade I listed concert hall on the northern edge of South Kensington in the City of Westminster, London. Designed by Henry Young Darracott Scott and Francis Fowke in the Italianate style, it was opened by Queen Victoria in 1871 and seats 5,272. It is the venue for the BBC Proms each summer and forms the practical part of a memorial to Prince Albert, whose decorative counterpart, the Albert Memorial, stands to the north in Kensington Gardens.
