The Royal Castle of Laeken is a Neoclassical château in the Laeken district of Brussels, Belgium, about 5 km north of the city centre. Built between 1782 and 1784 for the Governors of the Habsburg Netherlands as the Palace of Schonenberg, it was partly destroyed by fire in 1890, rebuilt and extended, and is now the official residence of the King and Queen of the Belgians within the Royal Domain of Laeken.
