The Royal Festival Hall is a 2,700-seat concert, dance and talks venue on the South Bank of the River Thames, near Hungerford Bridge, in the London Borough of Lambeth. Designed in the modern style by Robert Matthew and Leslie Martin, it was built for the London County Council as part of the Festival of Britain and opened on 3 May 1951. It was the first post-war building to be Grade I listed, in 1981.
