The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are a vast complex of monumental heated greenhouses in the park of the Royal Palace of Laeken, northern Brussels, Belgium. King Leopold II commissioned them, and Alphonse Balat originally designed them; they were built between 1874 and 1905, with Henri Maquet and Charles Girault taking over after Balat's death in 1895. The complex holds tropical, subtropical and cold greenhouses, and is home to the Royal Botanic Collection, including large collections of camellias and orange trees.
