Royal Square (Plaça Reial) is a porticoed Neoclassical square in Barcelona's Barri Gòtic, close to La Rambla. Designed by Francesc Daniel Molina i Casamajó and built from 1850, it replaced the Capuchin convent of Santa Madrona, demolished in 1835. Its lampposts were designed by Antoni Gaudí, and it is now a popular venue for restaurants and nightclubs.
