Royal Tobacco Factory of Seville
Seville, Spain

Exterior only
Visible from the street; the inside is private.
The Royal Tobacco Factory of Seville is a Baroque public building in Seville, southern Spain, begun in 1728. Built as a stone tobacco factory, it was the most prominent such institution in Europe and a descendant of the continent's first tobacco factory, located nearby. Since the 1950s it has been the seat of the rectorate of the University of Seville, and it is regarded as one of the most splendid examples of industrial architecture from Spain's Antiguo Régimen.
