Russarö Lighthouse stands on the island of Russarö outside Hanko, Finland, at the western end of the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea. Built in 1863 on the site of earlier daymarks and lighthouses dating to 1815, it is one of Finland's oldest surviving lighthouses and the first there to operate through the winter, when Hanko was the only port open year-round. Its octagonal brick tower, 21 metres tall, rises from a granite base over five storeys.
