The Russian Chapel, formally the St. Mary Magdalene Chapel, is a Russian Orthodox church on the Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt, Germany. Built between 1897 and 1899 by the architect Leon Benois in the Russian Revival style, it is known for its gold onion domes. It served as a private chapel for Nicholas II, whose wife Alexandra Feodorovna was born in Darmstadt, and it is named for the patron saint of his grandmother, Maria Alexandrovna, also born in the city.
