The Ryūkoku Museum in Shimogyō-ku, Kyōto, is a university and religious museum designed by Nikken Sekkei and opened in 2011 to mark the 370th anniversary of Ryūkoku University's foundation. Situated facing Nishi Hongan-ji, the building houses a substantial collection of Buddhist art and history, including a digital recreation of the corridor from Cave 15 at Bezeklik. Its façade features four thousand ceramic louvers, a design choice that evokes traditional Kyōto aesthetics while providing practical climate control and light regulation within the museum.
