The Sacred Heart Cathedral, formally the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, is a Gothic Revival Roman Catholic cathedral on the north bank of the Pearl River in Guangzhou, China, and the seat of the Archbishop of Guangzhou. Begun in 1888 to designs by Léon Vautrin, it is one of the few cathedrals in the world built entirely of granite, including its walls, pillars and twin towers. Locals call it the Stone Chamber or Stone House.
