Safiabad Palace, a modest two-story square structure near Behshahr in Mazandaran province, dates to the Safavid era (1501–1736) and exemplifies the architectural traditions of that period. Built in brick, stone, tile, and plaster, the palace was once richly decorated with colored tiles inside and out, and features characteristic Safavid elements including an interior dome and ornamental gardens. Though small by comparison to other major Safavid works, it remains an important example of the era's aesthetic principles and is recognized as part of Iran's national heritage.
