Saint Hripsime Church stands in Yalta on the Crimean peninsula as a working Armenian church completed in 1917, designed by architect Gavriil Ter-Mikelov. Built in the Armenian architectural tradition, the church was modeled after the celebrated Saint Hripsime Church in Vagharshapat, Armenia—itself a UNESCO World Heritage site. A symbolic piece from the original Armenian church was incorporated into the base of this Yalta structure, creating a material link between the two buildings. Today it remains a regional cultural heritage site recognized in both Russia and Ukraine.
