Saintes Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Peter, is a former cathedral and minor basilica in Saintes, France, classified as a national monument. Largely rebuilt from 1450 in the Flamboyant Gothic style, it was sacked by Protestants during the French Wars of Religion in 1568, while work was still unfinished, and its nave had to be entirely rebuilt. Its heavy tower lacks the intended spire, replaced by a more economical dome. The interior is notable for its lack of decoration and its wooden ceiling, completed in 1927.
