Salerno Cathedral, also known as the Duomo, is the main church of Salerno in southern Italy and a minor basilica and major tourist attraction. Begun in 1001 in the Romanesque style, it is dedicated to Saint Matthew, whose relics lie in the crypt. It was built over an older church that probably dates from the final centuries of Ancient Rome.
