Salzburg Cathedral stands in the city of Salzburg, Austria, and is the Baroque Roman Catholic cathedral of the Archdiocese of Salzburg, dedicated to Saint Rupert and Saint Vergilius. Saint Vergilius founded the church in 774 on the remnants of a Roman town. After a fire, it was rebuilt in 1181, and in the seventeenth century it was completely reconstructed in the Baroque style under Prince-Bishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau. It still contains the baptismal font in which Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was baptized.
