San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, in San Antonio, Texas, preserves four of the city's five Spanish frontier missions: Concepción, San Jose, San Juan, and Espada. Established by Catholic religious orders to spread Christianity among local natives, they formed part of a colonization system across the Spanish Southwest. The park is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site named the San Antonio Missions, designated in 2015 together with the Alamo, which is not part of the park.
