San Giorgio Maggiore is a basilica church at the corner of Via Vicaria Vecchia and Via Duomo in central Naples, Italy, and is listed as Italian national heritage. A church stood on the site by the 4th century. After a fire in 1640, it was rebuilt in the Baroque style to designs by Cosimo Fanzago, who reversed its orientation so that the entrance occupies the former apse of the early church.
