The Chiesa di San Polo is a Catholic church in Venice dedicated to the Apostle Paul, from which the San Polo sestiere (district) of the city takes its name. Founded in 837, the brick structure evolved across centuries, incorporating Byzantine, Italian Gothic, and Neoclassical architectural elements that reflect Venice's layered artistic heritage and its historical position at the crossroads of Eastern and Western traditions.
