San San Silvestro in Capite is a Roman Catholic minor basilica on Piazza San Silvestro in central Rome, beside the central Post Office. Built in the 8th century as a shrine for relics of saints and martyrs from the catacombs, it is the national church of Great Britain in Rome. Its baroque architecture is attributed to Francesco da Volterra, and it houses a purported fragment of John the Baptist's head.
