Sant'Agnese in Agone is a 17th-century Baroque church overlooking the Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy, and an Italian national heritage site. Construction began in 1652 under Girolamo Rainaldi and his son Carlo Rainaldi, and Francesco Borromini became the other principal architect after numerous quarrels. The church stands on the site where Saint Agnes was martyred in the ancient Stadium of Domitian.
