Santa Chiara is a Renaissance Revival church in Rome's rione Pigna, about a block south of the Pantheon at the corner of via Santa Chiara and via di Torre Argentina. Founded by Saint Charles Borromeo in 1592 within the ruins of the Baths of Agrippa, it was rebuilt in 1883 by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, which gave it a new facade by Luca Carimini in 1888. The single-aisled interior holds frescoes and paintings by Virgilio Monti, including the high altarpiece of the Holy Family.
