Santa Cruz Basilica, also known as Kotta Palli, stands in Fort Kochi, Kochi, India, and serves as the cathedral church of the Diocese of Cochin. Originally built by the Portuguese in 1505, it was elevated to a cathedral in 1558 by Pope Paul IV. The British demolished it in 1795, and the present structure was consecrated in 1905, before Pope John Paul II proclaimed it a basilica in 1984.
