The Palacio de Santa Cruz is a Baroque building in central Madrid, Spain, now housing the Spanish Foreign Ministry. Commissioned by Philip IV in 1629 to house both courts and jail facilities, it was worked on by Juan Gómez de Mora from 1629 to 1636, with later additions by other architects. It was converted from a jail into a palace in 1767, and a fire in 1791 destroyed all but its facade.
