Santa Maria dei Carmini, also called Santa Maria del Carmelo, is a large Roman Catholic church in the Dorsoduro sestiere of Venice, northern Italy. It stands against the former Scuola Grande di Santa Maria del Carmelo, known as the Scuola dei Carmini, a charitable confraternity officially founded in 1597 that grew out of a lay women's association, the Pinzocchere dei Carmini, whose members stitched scapulars for the neighbouring Carmelites.
