Santa Maria in Vallicella, also called Chiesa Nuova, is a Baroque church in Rome, Italy, facing the Corso Vittorio Emanuele at the corner of Via della Chiesa Nuova. Begun in 1575, it is the principal church of the Oratorians, a congregation of secular priests founded by St Philip Neri in 1561. It is one of several great preaching churches built in Rome's Centro Storico during the Counter Reformation.
