Schofield Hall, the principal administrative building of the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, was constructed in 1914 by architects Van Ryn & DeGelleke in the Collegiate Gothic style. Built of brick, the structure houses the university's admissions office and various administrative departments. Located on Garfield Avenue across from the campus footbridge connecting Water Street to the lower campus, the building commemorates Harvey Schofield, the first president of the institution when it operated as Eau Claire State Normal School. Recognized for its educational significance, Schofield Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and is also listed in the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places.
