Serbski dom
Bautzen, Germany
Exterior only
Visible from the street; the inside is private.
The Serbski dom is an administrative building at Postplatz 2 in Bautzen, Saxony, Germany, and the cultural and political centre of the Sorbian people. Built between 1947 and 1956, it houses the seat of Domowina and the Foundation for the Sorbian People. It replaced an earlier building of the same Sorbian name, destroyed in April 1945, and its German name, "Haus der Sorben," was adopted because of the pejorative use of "Wenden" during the Nazi period. It is a heritage monument in Saxony.
