Seville Cathedral, formally the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See, is a Catholic Gothic cathedral in Seville, Andalusia, Spain, and one of the largest churches in the world. After its completion in the early 16th century it supplanted Hagia Sophia as the largest cathedral. UNESCO registered it as a World Heritage Site in 1987, alongside the adjoining Alcázar palace complex and the General Archive of the Indies.
