Shadelands Ranch is a historic farm and house in Walnut Creek, California, established in 1856 by Hiram Penniman, an early American settler, on 500 acres bought from Encarnación Pacheco in the Ygnacio Valley. Penniman grew peaches, pears, apricots, grapes, almonds, and walnuts, with prunes his most profitable crop. Since 1972 the ranch house, still furnished with much of the Penniman family's original furniture, has been run as a museum by the Walnut Creek Historical Society. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
