The Shaheed Minar is a memorial in Dhaka, Bangladesh, built to commemorate those killed in the 1952 Bengali language movement demonstrations in then East Pakistan. Designed by Hamidur Rahman and Novera Ahmed, it was completed in 1963, demolished during the 1971 Liberation War, and later rebuilt. Each year on 21 February, national observances known as Ekushey February are centred on the monument.
