The Şifaiye Medrese is an Islamic educational complex built in 1217 in Sivas, Turkey, under the patronage of Rûm Seljuk Sultan Kaykaus I, who favored the city as a seat of power. The structure displays characteristic Seljuk architectural features and comprises both a medrese (theological school) and a Darüşşifa, or hospital—a dual-purpose institution where medical knowledge was systematically taught alongside religious studies. The complex is also known by the name of Sultan Izeddin Keykavus I, whose tomb remains within the compound, reflecting the intertwining of royal patronage and institutional legacy that typified Seljuk foundations.
