Smalls Lighthouse stands on the largest of The Smalls, a group of wave-washed basalt and dolerite rocks about 20 miles (32 km) west of the Marloes Peninsula in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Engineer James Nicholas Douglass built it in 1861 to replace an earlier lighthouse erected on the same rock in 1776. Standing 41 metres tall and built of stone, it is the most remote lighthouse operated by Trinity House.
