Soroush Cinema, located on Shariati Street in Tehran's District 7, is a multiplex designed by Heydar Ghiai, a pioneer of modern architecture in Iran. Originally opened as Moulin Rouge Cinema on October 15, 1956—with *Trapeze* as its inaugural film—it was part of the ambitious Chain Cinemas project founded by the Akhavan brothers in 1955, which ultimately comprised eight venues showing films from major American studios including Paramount Pictures and United Artists. The building exemplifies Pahlavi-era architecture. After closure for renovations, it reopened in August 2013 under its current name as a three-screen facility with seating capacities of 330, 200, and 100 persons.
