The Spanish Cultural Heritage Institute in Madrid, built in 1967, is a brutalist office building designed by architects Antonio Miró Valverde and Fernando Higueras. Designated as a bien de interés cultural (cultural property of national interest), it serves as an institution of the Ministry of Culture dedicated to the research, conservation, and documentation of Spanish cultural heritage. The building houses a multidisciplinary team of specialists—architects, archaeologists, conservators, scientists, and curators—who work in concert to preserve and valorize Spain's cultural property, drawing on expertise across conservation science, ethnography, and archival work.
