Built by the National Park Service in 1922, the St. Andrews Patrol Cabin stands along St. Andrews Creek in Pierce County, Washington, near the western boundary of Mount Rainier National Park. This one-room log structure exemplifies National Park Service rustic architecture and served as a ranger patrol station in a network of similar outposts positioned near the park's boundaries. The modest cabin features a front porch and interior finishing of varnished logs and tongue-and-groove flooring. Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, it remains part of the Mount Rainier National Historic Landmark District, which celebrates the park's distinctive inventory of rustic Park Service-designed buildings.
