St. Anthony of Padua Cathedral stands in Breda, Netherlands, as the Roman Catholic cathedral of the Diocese of Breda. Built in 1837 by Pieter Huijsers in the Neoclassical style, it is a so-called waterstaatskerk, its construction paid largely by the government under civil engineers. Its front façade layers Doric, Ionic and Corinthian elements from bottom to top, and the pediment beneath the bell tower resembles a Greek temple. It has been a Rijksmonument, and it regained cathedral status in 2001.
