St Augustine's Abbey is a former Benedictine monastery in Canterbury, Kent, England, founded in 598 as the Monastery of Ss Peter and Paul and renamed after its founder, St Augustine of Canterbury, following his death. It was dissolved in 1538 during the English Reformation and dismantled until 1848. Since then, part of the site has served The King's School, Canterbury, as boarding houses and a library, and the ruins are preserved for their historical value.
