Note the conflict: the facts sheet lists "Built/inception: 0901" and architect Ferdinand von Quast, which the source does not support; the source gives 959/960–965 by Margrave Gero and says nothing about von Quast. Following the source, I use the 959/960–965 dates and attribute construction to Gero.
St. Cyriakus is a medieval church in Gernrode, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, and one of the few surviving examples of Ottonian architecture. Margrave Gero built it in 959/960–965, and it was restored in the 19th century. It served as the collegiate church of the Abbey of Gernrode until 1614, and the church, like the abbey, became Protestant in the mid-sixteenth century and is still used by the local Protestant community.
