St Helen's Church in Hangleton, Hove, is the oldest surviving structure in Brighton and Hove, dating to 1101 and built in the Norman architectural style. Originally the parish church of Hangleton—a remote South Downs village that was abandoned by the Middle Ages and remained open farmland until residential expansion in the Interwar period—it stands as a Grade II* listed building and a rare witness to the area's medieval past.
