The Basilica of St. James is a Gothic Catholic parish church in Levoča, Slovakia, dedicated to James the Apostle and built from brick, with construction beginning in the 14th century. Its main altar, by the workshop of Master Paul of Levoča and completed in 1517, is listed as the world's tallest wooden altar at 18.62 metres. The church was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Levoča, Spiš Castle and the Associated Cultural Monuments in 2009, and Pope Francis declared it a minor basilica in 2015.
