St Mary's Church in Gosforth, Cumbria, is a Norman parish church dating to around 1150, now part of the Anglican diocese of Carlisle. Originally constructed in the Romanesque style characteristic of its era, the church has achieved Grade I listed status in recognition of its architectural and historical significance. The building is particularly notable for its association with a unique assemblage of Viking-age carved stones, a remarkable collection that distinguishes it among English parish churches and underscores Gosforth's rich medieval heritage. Today it remains an active Anglican church, its benefice united with neighboring parishes at Wasdale Head and Nether Wasdale.
