St. Mary Somerset was a medieval church in the City of London, first recorded in the twelfth century, that fell victim to the Great Fire of 1666. Rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren's office in 1686 as one of fifty-one churches he designed in the aftermath of the fire, it exemplified English Baroque architecture. Though the main body of the church was demolished in 1871, its tower survives on Upper Thames Street and retains Grade I listed status.
