St. Maximilian Kolbe is a modern concrete church completed in 1976 in the Spandau district of Berlin, designed by architect Franz-Heinrich Sobotka. Built during the post-war period of West Berlin's reconstruction, the church exemplifies the modernist aesthetic of its era through its bold use of reinforced concrete as both structural and expressive material.
