St. Michael's Church (Michaeliskirche) is an early-Romanesque church in Hildesheim, Germany, begun as an abbey in 1010 under Bernward of Hildesheim. Its architecture draws on both Ottonian and Romanesque traditions. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, noted for interior art including the Tree of Jesse and the Bernward Doors, which have since been relocated. After the Protestant Reformation the church became shared, with the main structure Lutheran and the crypt Roman Catholic.
