St Michael's Church in Barton, Cumbria, is a Grade I listed Anglican parish church built around 1150, combining English Gothic and Norman architectural traditions. The church is distinguished by its possession of the only central Norman tower on a medieval church in Cumbria, a rare and notable feature. Sited within a circular churchyard, the building remains an active place of worship, its benefice united with three neighboring parish churches—St Paul in Pooley Bridge, St Peter in Martindale, and St Martin in Martindale—serving the Deanery of Penrith within the Diocese of Carlisle.
